Innovation Connector’s Ted Baker Discusses Services & FBIA Conference Insights on WMUN

On February 25th, Innovation Connector CEO Ted Baker joined host Steve Lindell on Delaware County Today on WMUN to discuss Innovation Connector’s mission, the services available to local entrepreneurs, and insights from a recent national conference attended in Florida.

The conversation reinforced a consistent message for business owners across the region: entrepreneurship is challenging, and no one should have to navigate it alone.

Supporting Entrepreneurs at Every Stage

During the interview, Ted emphasized that Innovation Connector exists to provide guidance, resources, and connections for entrepreneurs and small business owners at all stages of their journey. Whether someone is just developing an idea or working to strengthen an existing business, Innovation Connector offers support designed to meet business owners where they are.

One of the core areas discussed was business startup assistance. The Innovation Connector team works closely with entrepreneurs to help validate business ideas, define the problem and solution their concept addresses, and understand the foundational steps required to launch a business.

Strengthening Existing Businesses Through the Business Health Check

Ted also highlighted Innovation Connector’s Business Health Check, an in-depth and comprehensive review designed for existing businesses. This process takes a straightforward and honest look at what is working well and where challenges may exist. By working closely with a Business Health Check Coach, business owners gain clarity around operations, strategy, and next steps.

Ted described the Business Health Check as a potential game-changer—particularly for entrepreneurs who feel stuck in the day-to-day operations of their business and need a clearer understanding of where they stand and how to move forward. And when Innovation Connector isn’t the right fit for a specific need, the organization remains committed to connecting entrepreneurs with trusted partners who can help.

Learning From Leaders Across the Country

The interview also included discussion of Ted’s recent attendance at the 2026 Florida Business Incubation Association Winter Conference, held February 19th–20th at USF CONNECT in Tampa. The conference brought together entrepreneur support organizations from across the country to share best practices, emerging trends, and innovative approaches to serving business owners.

Ted described himself as a lifelong learner and shared that the conference provided valuable perspective on how different regions support entrepreneurship. He took extensive notes on ideas and strategies that could be implemented locally to strengthen Innovation Connector’s impact.

In addition to learning from peers, Ted was honored to present on Innovation Connector’s Business Health Check program, representing both the organization and the Muncie community on a national stage. The opportunity allowed Innovation Connector to share its work while also gaining insight into what is happening in other parts of the country.
