Our summer xtern program has officially ended! It was an exciting couple of weeks, where students from Indianapolis schools worked for First Merchants Bank, Accutech, Magna, Mursix, and the City of Muncie. They were given various opportunities to develop professionally and learn about Muncie community culture. Some of the highlights include:
Civic Engagement and Community Culture:
- Volunteering at Muncie Animal Shelter
- Volunteering at Spark IT Weekend of Wonder
- Taling with Wanee Robotics Kids
Professional Development and Career Prep
- State of Indiana Tech Event
- Start Up, Scale UP, VC Funding Night
- Tech in Odd Place
- Tech Experience Series: Adam Unger
- Difference Making Decisions
- Tech Experience Series: Ron Fauquher
Social Connectivity and City Emersion
- Trips to the Muncie Farmers Market
- Bobo Ross Experience
- Muncie Juneteenth Celebration
- Top Golf
Our xterns really enjoyed all of their unique experiences, but one thing they all had in common was that they enjoyed the amount of support provided to them by both the xtern program and the people they met in Muncie! If you want to hear about their individual experiences check out the Innovation Connector Youtube Channel for their end-of-xtern wrap-up videos!
